Become a Homestay Provider

I have been a host for Westbourne Academy for a number of years now and having also been a host for several other English Schools in the area, I can say hands down that this school is the friendliest and most accommodating School I have had the pleasure of working with. They put the students at the forefront of everything they do, always looking to make sure each student is happy with their homestay family and making sure we as hosts make their stay with us a 'home from home' experience. I currently have two lovely Swiss students with me, who are due to leave in a week and I am going to miss them terribly, they have become part of the family and this is, as hosts, exactly how we want our students to feel. They have also told me that the majority of students are sad to go home to their families and would love to stay longer, which proves despite lockdown, what a great experience this is for young people wishing to improve their English

I’ve taken students for many years the first school Wessex academy and now Westbourne Academy. Many students have stayed with me some for a short time and also long periods of time. To meet students from different countries and to learn about their way of life is very interesting. Westbourne academy look after their student’s very well with evening talk clubs, entertainment and many things for them to do. A lot of the students that have stayed with me have become friends and keep in touch. Credit to the school, keep up the good work.

I've only had five different students stay with me as I am fairly new to being a homestay provider. Wow, what an amazing experience. I found it an enriching experience from learning about different cultures to cooking more interesting foods. All five students were over 17years old. I still get whatsapp messages from some of my students. One student stayed for 8 months. He has become a great friend. Financially it helped slightly, psychologically it is so lovely having young enthusiastic students to welcome into your home and to converse with and include as family (especially now my own children have left home). Like anything in life the more effort you put in the more reward you get out of being a homestay provider. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the students who have stayed with me while I have been a homestay provider. If you are interested in learning about people, cultures, different languages, and meeting some amazing young people from all over the world I thoroughly recommend the experience.
